This one has not happened yet. At the time of writing, 9 August 2026, Sziget opens in two days. Everything here comes from the festival's own pages and was checked today.
Sziget is the one that happens on an island. Obuda Island sits in the Danube inside Budapest, the festival takes the whole thing over for a week, and most people camp on it rather than travelling in and out.
It is also long. Five days, Tuesday to Saturday, which is a different animal from a three day weekend. People pace it. The island has its own rhythm by Thursday.
It opens in two days from the day this page was written. We are not there this year and the page says so. Everything on it comes from Sziget's own pages, checked on 9 August 2026, with the links under each answer.
One line from their press page is worth repeating for anyone in this business, because it is the clearest statement of what a festival actually judges: they look at whether you are a legitimate and active outlet, at your reach and relevance, and at what you published about them before the festival, not only after.

When does camping open and close?
Camping runs from 11 August at 8am until 16 August at midday, Central European Time. So the campsite stays open the morning after the last night, which is the detail that decides whether you sleep before travelling home.

Is there an early move in day?
The festival mentions a moving in ticket as coming soon rather than confirmed, so treat early arrival as unconfirmed until it appears properly on their site.

When does press accreditation close?
For the 2026 edition the deadline was 31 July 2026. Sziget says plainly that accreditation is not automatic, that the number of passes is limited, and that they look at whether the request comes from a legitimate and active outlet, at its reach and relevance, and at what you published about the festival before it started.
