What we measure, what we do not collect, and who else sees anything.
Short version: we count visits, we do not collect anything about you personally, and we do not sell anything to anybody.
What we measure
We use Google Analytics to count how many people read which pages, roughly where in the world they are, and whether they came from a search engine or a link. We look at these numbers to decide what to write next.
We do not ask you to log in, we do not run a comment system, and we do not build a profile of you.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets a cookie to avoid counting the same visitor twice. That is the only reason it is there.
Video and other embeds
When you press play on an embedded video, that video is served by the platform it lives on, for example YouTube, and at that point their rules and their cookies apply. We deliberately do not load any embed until you press it, so nothing is fetched from another company until you choose it. Where possible we use the no cookie version of the player.
If you write to us, we keep the email so we can answer it. That is all.
