Wacken is a metal festival in a village of about two thousand people in northern Germany, and for four days it becomes one of the largest metal gatherings on earth.
It is also known for selling out fast, often a long way ahead, which is why the ticket line on their own site matters more here than almost anywhere else.
We have not filmed inside this one. When a page here carries our own photographs it means we were there, and this page does not.
