Walk inside UNTOLD before you decide to go

Every festival page on the internet shows you the same two pictures. A wide shot of a crowd with their arms up, and the lineup poster. Both are true and neither tells you what you actually want to know, which is what the place is like to stand in.

So in 2025 we took a 360 camera into UNTOLD and filmed it.

What it is

Twenty six spheres, each one 7680 by 3840 pixels, linked so you can move between them. You drag to look around, and you are looking at the real thing, not a rendering and not a photograph that somebody pointed a camera at once. Look up and there is the sky over Cluj Arena. Turn around and the crowd is behind you.

There is no app. It opens in a browser, on a phone, in about the time a photo gallery would take.

Why we think it matters more than a photograph

A photograph is somebody else's decision about where to look. Standing inside the sphere, the decision is yours, and that turns out to change what you learn. You find out how far the back of the arena really is from the stage. You see how much of the site is park and how much is stadium. You notice where the bars are.

For anybody who has never been, that is the difference between imagining a festival and recognising one when you walk in.

What it does not do

It does not show you the 2026 edition, because it was shot in 2025 and the build changes every year. It does not have sound. And it does not replace being there, which is the whole point of the thing it is a picture of.

Where the pictures on this site come from

The photographs on our UNTOLD pages are frames pulled out of that tour. That is why they look like the inside of a festival rather than a press pack, and it is why we can tell you honestly that no image on this site of UNTOLD is generated or borrowed.
