What a festival ticket really costs, and the numbers nobody prints next to the price

The number on the poster is not the number you pay. That is true at every festival in this piece, and the gap is never small.

We went and read the ticket pages themselves, on one day, and wrote down what they actually say. No aggregator, no estimate, no "prices from around". Where a festival has not published a price, you will find that written down too, because a blank is information and a guess is not.

UNTOLD, Cluj, 5 to 8 August 2027

Passes start at 522.79 Lei, which is roughly 105 euro at the time of writing. That figure sits on the festival's own front page next to the button that sells them.

Accommodation packages start at 962.00 Lei, about 193 euro, and they are sold separately. So the honest floor for somebody who needs a bed is around 1,485 Lei, close to 300 euro, before travel, before food, before anything inside the gate.

One thing worth knowing about UNTOLD specifically. The site sells the 2027 edition already, which is unusually early, and early tiers are the cheapest they will ever be. That is not a sales pitch, it is how tiered pricing works everywhere: the price only moves upward.

We are not quoting a full tier table because UNTOLD does not publish one as a page. The numbers that circulate in chat come from the assistant on their site, which is an AI, not a published price list, and we will not repeat a price we cannot point at.

Roskilde, Denmark, 26 June to 3 July 2027

Roskilde does something most festivals do not: it lets you pay monthly. Their page offers the full festival ticket in eight instalments of 327 DKK, plus a 100 DKK ticket fee.

That reads as cheap. Do the arithmetic and it is 2,716 DKK, about 364 euro.

This is exactly the sort of number that gets copied wrong. Somebody sees 327, writes "tickets from 327 DKK", and it travels. 327 DKK is not the price of anything. It is one eighth of the price, and the fee sits on top of all eight.

For eight days on site, 364 euro is genuinely reasonable, and worth saying plainly. Roskilde is also non profit and largely run by volunteers, and volunteering is a real way in for anyone who cannot find that money.

Glastonbury, Worthy Farm, 23 to 27 June 2027

There is no 2027 price yet. The festival says ticket information comes in autumn 2026.

What there is, on their own information page, is the full 2025 breakdown, and Glastonbury is the only festival here honest enough to publish the extras next to the ticket:

So a couple driving down and parking paid £822.25 in 2025, not £757. The parking and the postage are the part nobody quotes.

Treat these as the shape of 2027 rather than the price of it. Two years of inflation sit between them, and the festival has not said a word about next year's figure.

Sziget, and a number that is not a ticket

Sziget's ticket page carries 5,000 HUF, about 12 euro, and we nearly wrote it down.

It is a mobile data plan. It sits on the ticket page because they sell a SIM alongside the festival, and a machine reading that page for prices would report it as a ticket without blinking.

We are including this because it is the most useful thing on this page. The reason festival prices are wrong all over the internet is not dishonesty, it is that somebody read a number without reading the sentence around it. That is also why every figure here names the page it came from and the day we opened it.

The ones that publish nothing you can read

Three festivals build their ticket pages inside the browser, so there is nothing to read without opening them by hand, and two more had no price on the page at all when we looked:

• Tomorrowland, and in any case 2027 is not announced. We wrote separately about the 2027 dates going around being last year's.
• Primavera Sound, tickets on sale for Barcelona 2027, price not published as text.
• Electric Castle, same.
• Rock am Ring and EXIT, no price on the ticket page on the day we looked.

We will fill these in as we read them properly, and each will carry its own date.

What this actually costs, put simply

If you are budgeting, the ticket is somewhere between half and two thirds of what you will spend before you have eaten anything.

The three real floors we can stand behind today:

• UNTOLD, about 105 euro for a pass, about 300 euro with a bed.
• Roskilde, about 364 euro for eight days, payable monthly.
• Glastonbury, about £390 in 2025 for one person travelling light, about £822 for two arriving by car.

Everything else you read today is a guess unless it tells you which page it came from and when. Ours does.
